Oct 16, 2010 "Who Rules, Spirit or Personality?"

From ancient to modern times, the temptation to classify personality has been great. Kate Cohen-Posey's presentation begged the question "are our personality types set in stone, or is there something deeper guiding us?"

The presentation was part of the Creative Studies program at the Polk Museum of Art.

Join us on the 3rd Saturday of each month, 5- 7:30pm.

Museum members $12, non-members $15.

Lakeland's new "Creative Consortium" to meet June 24, 2010

We've heard some of our friends in Lakeland complain that Lakeland comes up a little short in opportunities for creative expression. There are gobs of bait shops, but only a few art studios and events. Abundant barbeque, but we're starving for organic cuisine. Plenty of sports bars, but we're craving some good jazz jam. Walk-in clinics galore, but where do you go for Reiki energy healing?

You may not yet know about some of these best kept secrets in Lakeland!
*"Creative Studies Series" meets on the 3rd Saturday of each month at the Polk Museum of Art,
and features speakers on healing, arts, and spirituality.
*"Grass Root Organic Restaurant" offers Lakeland's first and only vegan and raw/living food
alternative. Plus they have classes and lectures for those who want to dig a little deeper.
*"Arts in Medicine" at Watson Clinic uses healing arts to promote comfort and wellbeing for
patients and families.
*"Mosswood Center for Spiritual Life" is a community santuary providing opportunities for
understanding self and others, and well as healing and enriching the mind, body, and spirit.
*"Platform Art" parties showcase new and exciting local talent in visual arts, film, fashion,
music, and performance.

These creative resources will have their first meeting as the "Consortium" at Grass Root Restaurant on June 24th to explore how our combined energies can best quench the thirst of our Lakeland friends. Stay tuned!
